Vauxhall Adds Onstar to Corsa and Adam

Vauxhall have revealed that their supermini’s are set to get their top of the range Onstar technology connectivity.

Vauxhall is ensuring that their entire range is up-to-date with the latest state-of-the-art equipment and that includes their Corsa and Adam models. Both models now boast the Luton-based manufacturers OnStar and IntelliLink systems which come as standard with the ‘Energy’ trim and above in the Corsa and ‘Slam’ trim and above on the Adam.

Vauxhall’s IntelliLink touchscreen infotainment system now boasts OnStar version R4.0 which now incorporates Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. This allows users to use a selection of apps through the car including navigation apps and online radio.IntelliLink also gives additional services such as Bluetooth as well as a USB interface which can all be controlled from a central 7 inch fully colour touchscreen.

The OnStar technology brings with it a built in 4G wireless modem which acts as a mobile internet hotspot for you to connect your smartphone, tablet or laptop. As well as increasing entertainment options for you and your passengers, the OnStar technology also provides another level of driver safety with immediate connection to a 24hr manned assistance line that provides an Automatic Crash Response or Roadside Assistance.

The system is easily activated through pushing a button located in the roof that allows drivers to call for help for anything from an accident to assistance in finding a suitable place to park the car. People say there is an app for everything nowadays and OnStar certainly aids this theory as you can now remotely lock or unlock your car via your phone.
